We use your photos as references to create custom hand-painted pet portrait paintings, unique to you!
Our paintings are painted in the style of contemporary realism. Think of it as a natural representation, where just as life is never perfect, we embrace all the little imperfections and make it all beautiful.
Commissioning your very own scottieandcasie painting is super easy and we’ll be here with you each step of way.
Step 1. Review our 2022 price list and choose a size.

Additional pets are available on 11″ x 14″ or larger at an additional cost. Prices listed are for 1 pet (head and shoulder) on a plain background. Full body and custom backgrounds may be requested at an additional cost.
Prices may be subject to change at any time. Prices are exclusive of framing. Shipping is $50 to Canada and USA. Free pickup is available for those in the Vancouver Lower Mainland area. Note that international deliveries may be subject to local import duties and taxes, which are the customers’ responsibility. We deliver worldwide.
Step 2. Send us your photos.
We want to create the ultimate best possible painting for you so it’s important to submit quality photos that contain as much detail as possible. Here are some quick tips when choosing your photos:
- Choose photos taken in natural lighting either outdoors or indoors by a large window – best if out of direct sunlight.
- Avoid photographs using flash.
- Take close-up photos of your pet, close enough to fill the entire frame with only your dog’s head. Have your camera focus on their eyes.
- The best photos are at least 2 MB in size. The larger the photo size, the better.
- Whether it’s a photo of your dog as a puppy or as an adult, choose one that makes you smile when you look at it and one that brings you and your loved ones happy memories!
Step 3. Discuss layout, background, and confirm all the details.
We list out agreed upon dimensions, subject matter, medium, materials, price, shipping costs, and estimated timeline to complete the artwork.
Step 4. Pay a 50% deposit of the total cost (including shipping) and agree to our terms and conditions.
Step 5. Receive three to four sneak-peak updates on your painting.
We’ll be in touch with you through the process and give you regular updates – typically, we provide photo-updates of the initial sketch, at 50% to 75% completion, and the final painting.
Step 6. Pay final balance at 75% completion of your painting.
Step 7. Review your completed painting and wait for it to be packaged and shipped!
We take extreme care to pack your beautifully finished painting to ensure that it’s in pristine condition when you receive it. Our paintings are not rolled but flat-packed, with proper protection to prevent any damages. To make sure it arrives safe and sound, we send our paintings by registered mail that requires signature upon receipt.
